NAIDOC Week

NAIDOC 2025 - The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy
NAIDOC Week is a time to recognise and celebrate the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, the oldest continuing cultures on Earth. It’s also an opportunity for all Australians to learn, share, and reflect on the contributions and ongoing resilience of First Nations communities.
In 2025, NAIDOC Week will be held during the school holidays from Sunday 6 July to Sunday 13 July, with the theme: ‘The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy’. This theme celebrates the 50th anniversary of NAIDOC Week and highlights the strength of young leaders, the bold vision of communities, and the enduring legacy of Elders. As we celebrate this historic milestone, we also look to the future: one led by proud, capable, and connected young people who carry the wisdom of their ancestors and the responsibility to shape a more just and inclusive Australia.
Each year, a national poster competition is held to reflect the theme. The winning artwork for 2025 by Jeremy Morgan Worrall is below:
