Student Free Day Term 3
A reminder that Term 3 commences on Tuesday 22nd July following a student-free day on Monday 21st July. Our staff team will attend the CSA (Christian Schools Australia) state conference off-site that day with other Christian school staff across our state.
Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) is available on the day - please book with Campus OSHC.
Welcome
At the start of Term 3, we are delighted to welcome four new Foundation students to Pilgrim School. A warm welcome to Michelle, Jordan, Angus, and Sophie, and to each of your families. We pray for rich blessings as you begin your journey with us - may you quickly feel a strong sense of belonging, find joy in learning, and flourish in who you are.
Staff Congratulations
A huge congratulations to Derek Bawden, our amazing Groundsman, who recently was awarded 2025 Surf Life Saver of the Year at the 2025 Surf Life Saving SA Awards of Excellence.
Baby News
Congratulations to Levi (Year 4) on the arrival of his new baby brother, Joshua. We wish John and Jess all the best at this time of celebration.
Toys at School
We ask that students please do not bring toys to school unless they are specifically needed for news talks or there has been prior consultation between the Inclusive Education Coordinator or the class teacher and the parent/caregiver. This helps minimize distractions and ensures a focused learning environment for all students.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
Parent Supervision Before and After School
Staff open classrooms at 8.30am each morning, with supervision available in classrooms or at Kiss'n'Drop until 3.30pm. If arriving before 8.30am or staying after 3.30pm, parents are asked to please actively supervise your child.
If you occasionally arrive prior to 8.30am or collect your child slightly later than 3.30pm, and you are not here to supervise, students will need to come to the Front Office. For more consistent arrivals/departures outside these times, children will be booked into OSHC requiring parents to pay the appropriate fee for the booking.
Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring our students remain safe when they are on site.
Council Rangers Issuing Fines in Kiss'n'Drop
A reminder to all families to ensure you closely observe the Council parking restrictions on the school side of Campus Drive - especially during afternoon pick-up and morning drop off. This includes not leaving your vehicle.
These regulations are in place to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and safety of students during busy times.
We are aware that a number of parents were recently issued fines by Council Rangers patrolling in the area.
To help keep things moving efficiently, please move your vehicle forward along the road when space becomes available, rather than leaving a gap and waiting for your children to come to you.
If others (eg grandparents) will be dropping off/collecting your children, please make them aware of these guidelines to avoid fines and assist with traffic flow.
Casual Day
On Friday 4th July (Week 10) we are holding a casual day and our Student Representative Team have chosen a pyjama theme. The money raised will go towards improving garden beds around Pilgrim, as chosen by our Student Representative Team.
A donation is requested from each student. Please use Qkr! for donations or cash on the day. The donation option is already open in Qkr! and will remain open until the end of the term.
Normal standards for hair and jewellery apply and footwear needs to be appropriate for normal class activities, including fitness (not slippers, thongs or slip ons).
Thank you for your support,
Student Representative Team
Attending EduTech 2025
I recently had the privilege of attending EduTech 2025, one of the largest education events in the Southern Hemisphere. With educators and innovators from across the country converging to share the latest in educational trends, technology, and practice, it was an inspiring opportunity to reflect on where education is heading and how Pilgrim School is preparing our students for that future.
A highlight of the event was a presentation by Luke Starczak, a Pilgrim School alumnus. Seeing one of our former students now leading in the education space was exciting and encouraging. It’s a powerful reminder that the seeds we plant here at Pilgrim School can grow into terrific contributions to our society. We’re incredibly proud to see Luke leading in this space and building on the strong foundation built at Pilgrim.
Attending events like EduTech isn’t just professional development - it’s part of how we invest in the ongoing renewal and improvement of our educational tools and practice. These experiences help us stay informed on emerging trends, innovative resources, and best practices in teaching and learning. Whether it’s educational technology, pedagogy, or school operations, we are committed to applying these insights to our own context to ensure our students receive a contemporary and future-focused education.
We're grateful to our valued supplier, Compass, for sponsoring my attendance at the event. Their support has enabled us to continue exploring what’s next in education and to invest strategically in our resources, teaching practices, and tools - all with the aim of setting our students up for success, both now and long into the future.

Belong and Blossom Playgroup
Belong and Blossom is for children 0-5 years old and their parents and/or carers. It takes place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9.00am - 10.45am during the school term in the Tween room. Please contact the Front Office, so you can receive our weekly emails letting you know about the week ahead. Registration takes place during your first playgroup session.
This is a time to connect with other parents and for your child to begin their connection with Pilgrim and some of the teachers in the Early Years team. We have story, craft and play times. We share fruit together and end our session with a story and some songs.
