Principal's Message

As we wrap up Term 2, I just want to say a big thank you to our students, families, and staff for another great term at Bolinda.

There’s been so much to celebrate — our NAPLAN results were something to be proud of, and it’s been amazing to see the learning happening across all classrooms. We’ve had some really special moments too, like Koopa’s birthday party, our whole school athletics day, reading mornings, and developmental play sessions that brought everyone together in such a positive way.

We also had the chance to take part in our local ANZAC Day service, and the students did a fantastic job representing the school with pride and respect.

Around the grounds, we’ve made some great improvements — the new toilets are finally open, our new school sign is up, and we’ve added the dishwasher and splashback to the kitchen to support our kitchen garden program, which continues to be such an important part of school life.

Thank you again for all your support this term. Have a safe and restful break — we’re looking forward to another great term ahead.

Koopa's Birthday Party

Today was bursting with excitement, laughter, and loads of fun as we celebrated Koopa’s birthday in true Bolinda style.

We started the day with a bit of drama with having no internet (which was a statewide problem). This took some figuring out, but eventually, we were able to start the day with a quiet movie in classrooms — a chance to settle in and take a breath before the fun kicked off. Then the 5/6 room turned into party central, with all kinds of dog-themed games. It was heartwarming to see the older kids looking out for the younger ones, making sure everyone had a go and felt included. It’s moments like these that really show the caring, connected vibe we have here.

While party food was cooking away, the kids hit the dance floor for a disco — there were some serious dance moves and lots of energy! Then came the highlight: singing happy birthday to Koopa and sharing the most incredible cake. Koopa was full of beans the whole time… well, until the food came out. Then it was all eyes on lunch!

Huge thanks to Ms Rapetti for pulling the day together with her usual magic touch — planning, cooking, and making sure everything ran smoothly. Shout out to the P/1 kids for helping with the food prep, and to our fantastic parent helpers who kept the food flowing and the kids smiling.

It was a day to remember, and Koopa definitely felt the love. Thanks to everyone who helped make it so special!

Semester 1 Reports

Student reports were released today. I’ve been so impressed with the learning taking place across the school – it’s truly remarkable what our students are capable of. Their curiosity, effort, and progress this term has been outstanding.

Our teachers have spent a significant amount of time compiling these reports, thoughtfully reflecting on each child’s journey. Please take the time to read through your child’s report and celebrate the many achievements it highlights.

Parent-Teacher Interviews

Parent-teacher interviews are scheduled for Term 3, and we encourage every family to book a time to meet with their child’s teacher. Interviews will be held across three designated days, so please look out for the booking information and make a time that works for you.

These conversations are a valuable opportunity to discuss your child’s progress and learning goals.

Fencing Update

I am pleased to share that we’ve made some positive progress in our ongoing request for improved fencing around the school. Representatives from both the Security Unit and Emergency Management Unit have visited the school and are now supporting us with this important safety improvement. Their guidance and involvement strengthen our case, and we’re hopeful this will help us move closer to securing a fence that better protects our students and supports the needs of our school community.

Maintenance Around the School

While our students enjoyed a well-earned break on Curriculum Day, some exciting improvements were happening around the school to help make Bolinda even better!

A Splash of Colour

A big thank you to Nicole, who spent her Curriculum Day painting doors throughout the school in our Bolinda colours. We’ve got a few more painting projects in the pipeline, so don’t be surprised if you see even more colour popping up throughout the year!

Greener and Greater

Donna rolled up her sleeves and spent the day tending to the school garden, giving it the love and care it needed to get back into shape. We’ve also applied for a council grant from the Macedon Ranges Shire Council to help reinvigorate and completely redesign the space, transforming it into something even more meaningful and enjoyable for our whole community.

Kitchen Upgrade

We’ve added a splashback to the kitchen area to help reduce the marks being made by our fabulous chefs! Combined with our recently installed dishwasher, it’s a small upgrade but an important one. These improvements reflect just how valuable our Kitchen Garden Program is at Bolinda – and how much we value the hands-on learning and healthy habits it helps to create.
