Year 9 Outdoor Education Adventure

Last week, our Year 9 Outdoor Education students embarked on an exciting day at the Blue Hole. They tackled the Threlfall Track bushwalk, built shelters, and cooked their own lunches using hiking stoves. It was a fantastic day filled with hands-on learning about the national park and valuable time connecting with nature!

Year 12 Work Studies have enjoyed their Christmas in July-themed practical lessons this term. Using a selection of dried flowers, students composed a beautiful set of Christmas baubles for gift giving.

Year 12 Math's Study Days

Every year Aurora College hosts a range of HSC workshops to support student learning in metropolitan, rural and remote schools. This year our Mathematics Standard and Advanced students were provided an opportunity to connect and revise with other students from across the state. A range of experts, experienced teachers and HSC markers presented HSC examination advice and up to date information on course content. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and seek answers in real time supported by some of their classroom teachers.

With trial exams fast approaching we remind students to be accessing past papers and seek feedback from their teachers.

Year 7 EAL/D HSIE

Our Year 7 EAL/D parallel HSIE classes have been learning about the mummification process during their Ancient Egypt unit. Over the last few months, the students have carefully mummified real tomatoes, using natron salt to dry them out. Each tomato was then wrapped and placed in a sarcophagus, along with amulets, a Book of the Dead, and a Death mask, to make sure it had a safe journey to the Afterlife!

 What a Fantastic Night!

Our School Social was an incredible success, bringing together over 200 students from Years 7–12 for an afternoon filled with music, dancing, games, and non-stop fun!

We're thrilled to share that we raised approximately $2,500 for the McGrath Foundation—a cause that’s close to many in our community.

A heartfelt thank you to all the students, families, and staff who helped make the night so special. Your energy, generosity, and support made it truly unforgettable.
