Footy Colours Day

On the last day of school we will have Footy Colours Day. You can wear your teams colours for a day of fun activities. 

What we have been up to...

Ballarat Wildlife Park

What a wonderful day we had at the Ballarat Wildlife Park yesterday! We got to meet lots of animals but the stand outs were the tiger and the dingos. We loved feeding the kangaroos!

Book Week Dress Up Day

We had a great day dressing up as our favourite book characters on Friday! Thank you to families for helping to make some incredible costumes!

Maths

During Maths this week we have been learning about addition. We have enjoyed creating addition stories, as well as rolling two dice to make an addition equation using concrete materials. 

Reminders

Reading Comprehension

We are currently focusing on our understanding of the stories that we read. When you read with your child, please make sure to ask the questions at the back of the book after the story has been read.  There are additional comprehension questions in your child's reading log book (see below).

Spare underwear/pants

There are a lot of children who are having small toileting accidents at the moment. Please make sure that your child has a spare pair of underwear and pants in their bag at all times. We will have to call you to bring up a change of clothes if there are no spares. 

Upcoming Fortnight

Week 9

Literacy: We will be reading the story 'Feathers for Phoebe', revising the heart words we know so far and learning all about the sound that 'th' makes. 

Mathematics: 

We will be continuing to work on addition and how to add two small groups of numbers together.

RRRR: How to ask for help

Topic: We will be learning about birds.

Week 10

Literacy: We will be reading the story 'The Singing Mermaid' and learning the sounds that 'ng' and 'ph' make. We will be revising all of the heart words we have learnt so far.

Mathematics: We will be revising the topics we have covered this term. 

RRRR: Help Seeking- circle time

Topic: We will be learning all about marine life.
