Deputy Principal's Message

Welcome to Week 8 and the beginning of spring. It is wonderful to see the students out in the playground enjoying the sunshine, playing with their friends and being sun safe by wearing their hats.

NAIDOC Week

This year Ben Venue will be celebrating NAIDOC Week in Week 3, Term 4. We look forward to range of events and activities over the week to celebrate the histories, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The 2023 theme is For Our Elders.

BVPS Student Representative Council (SRC)

This term, we welcomed our new Semester 2 class representatives to our BVPS SRC. The students will represent their class during meetings for the remainder of the year. We have already had many great ideas brought to the council so far this term and we look forward to actioning these over the remainder of the year.  Fundraising for a number of different causes and charities is always high on the students' agenda, so keep an eye out for news on plans for future student initiatives and fundraising events. We'll keep you posted!

Year 6 Check-in reminder

Students in Year 6 will be completing a number of check-in assessments over the next two weeks. They will complete the reading assessment this week and then the writing and numeracy assessment in Week 9.

Crazy Hair Day - Opera House Choir excursion fundraiser

On Friday 15 September, we will be holding a Crazy Hair Day. Students are asked to wear their hair in a 'crazy' way by styling it in a fun way or using coloured hairspray. Ribbons, bows, bands or gel are also a great way to join in the fun. Students are asked to bring a gold coin donation, with funds raised going towards supporting our S3 choir students to perform at the Opera House in Week 10 of this term. Thank you in advance for your support of the day.
