Term 3 has been jampacked with exciting excursions, experiments and hands on activities in the Science department!

Science Week

Science Week was another success at ECSC! This year we had 3 events:

Amazing Race

Students raced around the STEM building to solve clues and learn about famous scientist. They they solved a word puzzle to be the winner of the amazing race!

Experiments

Students participated in 3 different activities; Binary Bracelet Making, Teabag rockets and a STEM bridge building race.

Annual Science Week Kahoot

For the third year in a row, the Kahoot was the hit of the week! Congrats to all participants for their eagerness and knowledge

Excursions

Year 10 Quantum Excursion

Year 10's kick started their new topic of Motion by an excursion to Quantum at Charles Latrobe Secondary College. Students were challenged by the "Science of Superheros" and explored different components of Genetics and Motion.

Year 12 Chemistry

Year 12 students were excited to visit Monash University. The Monash Organic Spectroscopy Symposium (MOSS) covers the spectroscopic analysis of organic molecules and helps students develop skills in applying advanced tools and techniques required for analysing and interpreting data.

Year 9 Partners in Crime

Year 9 students have been practicing their crime solving skills in our Forensic Science Elective. Students have participated in Fingerprinting and Mock Crime Scene!
