Faith Education

Mr Ru Lameijn

Dear Parents,

On September 1st, we start the season of Creation.

The Season of Creation is a time to renew our relationship with our Creator and all creation through celebration, conversion, and commitment together. During the Season of Creation, we join our sisters and brothers in the ecumenical family in prayer and action for our common home. (seasonofcreation.org)

Pope Francis urges us to stop and think:

'During this Season of Creation, let us dwell on our heartbeats: our own and those of our mothers and grandmothers, the heartbeat of creation and the heartbeat of God.  Today they do not beat in harmony; they are not harmonised in justice and peace.

Too many of our brothers and sisters are prevented from drinking from that mighty river.  Let us heed our call to stand with the victims of environmental and climate injustice, and to put an end to the senseless war against creation'.

'“Let Justice and Peace Flow” is the theme of this year’s ecumenical Season of Creation, inspired by the words of the prophet Amos: “Let justice flow on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream” (5:24).'

(Excerpt of the Message of His Holiness Pope Francis for the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation)

At Trinity, we often stand still and think about this. Mrs Antonella with the Global Citiszen's Program, Mrs Belinda with the Sustainability team & captains, the sustainability and gardening club, our nude food count each week and our learning in the classroom about creation and the importance of looking after it.

We look forward to sharing our continued positive environmental journey with you and the students.

Yours sincerely,
