Mazenod Music Gala

Our Annual Music Gala will be held on Tuesday, 5th September commencing at 7:00pm in the Provence Centre.  More information will be sent out shortly to families.  Once again, our Gala is shaping up to be an event not to be missed. Tickets are free, however, we would appreciate everyone registering online if you will be attending.

With so many recitals, competitions and events coming up, it would be very helpful if students could make it to all scheduled rehearsals. 

Finally, to assist our music staff in preparing our ensembles, please help your son to be at school in time for a 7.45am start (morning rehearsals only).  We need to have productive rehearsals!

2024 Musical

Mazenod College is excited to announce that the 2024 musical will be Charlie And The Chocolate Factory. 

The world-famous Willy Wonka is opening the gates to his mysterious factory…but only to a lucky few. Young Charlie Bucket and four other Golden Ticket winners will embark on a life-changing journey through Wonka’s world of pure imagination. Based on the novel by Roald Dahl, with music by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, the musical also pays homage to the original motion picture including some of its memorable songs. 

More information regarding auditions etc., will be made available next year.

Important Music Dates

This term we will be focusing on our upcoming Winter Recitals and our Gala being held on Tuesday 5th September.

Dates for the recitals are on MazCom commencing at 5:30pm in the Founders’ Complex.

Ensembles and Orchestras 

We have added some new ensembles to our timetable. 

Junior Strings: All Year 7 Classroom Music string students – Monday mornings 7:45am

Double Bass Workshop: Monday lunchtime

Junior Flute Ensemble: Thursday mornings 7:45am

Senior Flute Ensemble: Thursday lunchtime

Please arrive promptly to the rehearsals.  If you are not sure what ensemble you are in, please speak to your Instrumental Music Teacher.

Timetables

Term 3 timetables have been uploaded to MazCom.  As we continue in the new semester, the possibility of changes to timetabling is highly probable.  Please make sure your son checks MazCom on a regular basis so that they are following the most recent timetable.
