Junior School Charity Colour Blast - A great success!

Our recent Prep to Year 6 Charity Colour Blast was an unforgettable, technicolour triumph!

Held at EE Gunn Reserve, the event saw our Junior School students sprint, dance and dodge their way through clouds of vibrant colour — all in support of our Year 5 charity, Make-A-Wish Australia.

Thanks to the incredible efforts of our students, staff and families, we raised over $11,000 for this fantastic cause!

A special shoutout to Year 5’s Thomas Volpe who is currently crowned our top fundraiser, and to Year 5M for taking out the title of highest fundraising class! Legends!

Years 5 and 6 eSports Competition

Hannah Zayontz, Max Cooper and Shu Lin, Year 5

On Wednesday 30 April, the Years 5 and 6 eSports team participated in a competition called the FUSE Cup, where we played the popular Nintendo Switch game Mario Kart.

Upon arriving, we met other teams in a large hall and watched a video from Kids Helpline about how to stay safe both online and offline. Before the gameplay began, we did some stretches to warm up.

When the racing started, everyone on our team had a chance to compete in both Grand Prix and Time Trial modes. While we all raced our hardest, everyone — except for Hannah and Zachary — was eliminated in the early rounds of the competition. Both of them did really well to make it to the quarter-finals.

We stayed to watch the grand final, which was raced between Silverton Primary School and Ivanhoe Grammar, with Silverton Primary School winning for the third year in a row!

Before the champions were announced, there was a quick teacher's race. Mr Hogan had a strong start, but unfortunately didn't finish well  — we think he might've come last in his race!

As we headed back to school at the end of the day, we reflected on how much fun we'd had. It was truly a day to remember for our team.

Commemorating ANZAC Day

JUNIOR SCHOOL

On April 5, the Junior School paused to honour the courage, sacrifice and service of the men, women and families who served in World War I, World War II and in conflicts beyond.

Thanks go to Navy Lieutenant Cristian Vancea, who visited our Junior School to share the legacy and significance of the ANZAC spirit with our students.

Our Year 5 classes also took part in a Shrine of Remembrance ANZAC service, deepening their understanding of remembrance and its enduring significance.

SENIOR SCHOOL

Following their return from outdoor education programs, our Senior School community came together this week to pay their respects to the ANZACs.

This special occasion provided an opportunity to reflect on the courage and sacrifice of those who have served in conflict.

As a community, we remain committed to honouring their legacy and keeping the ANZAC spirit alive through values of compassion, resilience and unity. Lest we forget.
