Message from the Principal

St Anthony’s Parish and St Anthony’s School hold the care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people as central and fundamental responsibilities of the Church.

St Anthony’s is fully compliant with all policies in relation to Child Safety. These documents ensure compliance with the Victorian Government Child Safety Standards which took effect on 1 January 2017 and reflect our Parish's ongoing commitment to ensuring that all children are safe, happy and empowered.

Dear Families and Friends of St Anthony's,

Welcome to the start of a new school year. We are very excited about the year ahead and all of the special learning opportunities that we will share as a community.

It has been so wonderful to see the classroom and school yard filled with happy faces. After our two assessment days the students have shown that they are eager to learn and the teachers have been using the data to plan for their term ahead.

The students have enjoyed our Social Emotional Learning focus that has been in place for week one. On Tuesday we had a whole school game of Heads and Tails, Wednesday we saw some spectacular dance moves with our disco in the quad, on Thursday we found the quickest class in the Hula Hoop Over/Under competition and then today we had a lovely time at the whole school picnic on the oval.

Next week we have two special celebrations, the first being our Prep and Year 5/6 Buddy Picnic and then the beginning of our 70th Year Celebrations on Thursday.

2025 is a Jubilee year for the Church and the 2025 Jubilee is centred on the theme ‘Pilgrims of Hope’. As His Holiness Pope Francis so beautifully expressed it: ‘We must fan the flame of hope that has been given us, and help everyone to gain new strength and certainty by looking to the future with an open spirit, a trusting heart and far-sighted vision’.

During the Jubilee Year, the Pope invites every one of us to embark on a pilgrimage of hope, so that, ‘Through our witness, may hope spread to all those who anxiously seek it’.

At St Anthony's this year we will also focus on the theme of Hope. As a community we focus on every person flourishing and to be known and as a staff we have discussed how learning brings hope, dreams, knowledge and understanding.
