HEALTH WEEK

RUNNING CLUB

This week's running club and activities were a hit. We had so many students and teachers running and doing activities. The activities were poison ball and just dance on Monday. Games on the court and charades on Tuesday. Whole school eating and parachute on Wednesday. Bat tennis (Grade 2-6) and yoga on Thursday. Finally on Friday we had the Staff v Grade 6 game of hockey on the tennis court and Meditation to finish off the week. A big thank you to teachers and Grade 6 students who helped out with the activities.

Running club was very fun with a lot of students participating. In the end the Grade 3's won with a good effort, they had a total of 744 laps. Grade 6 coming close 2nd with 676 laps. We hope to see all the kids running again next year.

And with the Grade 6 v Teachers game with a score of 1 - 5 and the teachers winning.

SWIMMING LESSONS IN 2025

The Grade 3-6 children will have their swimming lessons in week 7 of Term 1 in 2025. The dates for this are

Tuesday 11th March to Friday 14th March

Foundation – Grade 2 will be in Term 4, week 8, the dates are 24th November to 28th November.

GRADE 3-6 HOLY ROSARY SWIMMING TRIALS - WEDNESDAY 12TH FEBRUARY

This will take place at Bendigo East Pool. This event will be optional and only for students who are aiming to make it through to the Catholic Swimming Carnival (Wednesday, February 19th).

*Students attending will need to be able to swim 50m without stopping. Events will be freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly.

*Please note, Grade 3’s are ONLY eligible for 3 individual events - 50m freestyle, breaststroke & backstroke.

Regional Swimming Championships (Swan Hill): Tuesday 11th March

State Swimming Championships (Melbourne): Tuesday 29th April

Cross Country:

Division Cross Country (Year 3-6’s): Friday 16th May

Regional Cross Country (St Arnaud): Tuesday 27th May

State Cross Country (Melbourne): Thursday 24th July

Athletics:

Catholic Athletics Championships (Grade 3-6’s): Friday 29th August

*Please note, Grade 3’s are ONLY eligible for 4 events - Shot put, Long jump, 100m & hurdles.

GRADE 5/6 INTERSCHOOL SPORTS

Students in Grade 5 and 6 will get the opportunity to try out and represent our school at the following sports (with dates) in 2025:

Soccer Carnival (Term 2) - Wednesday 4th June or Thursday 5th June

Football Carnival (Term 3) - Tuesday 29th July (Girls) and Wednesday 30th July (Boys)

Netball Carnival (Term 3) - Wednesday 6th August

Basketball Carnival (Term 3) - Friday 5th September

Cricket Blast Carnival (Term 4) - Friday 24th October

***All sports we have a girls team and a boys team represent our school.
