Principal's Report
The end of every school year brings with it changes in staffing with this year being no different. It is with mixed emotions that I share the news that Paula Ellis, will be leaving us to join the Finance Team at the Catholic Education Office (CESL) at the conclusion of the school year as we move toward a centralised payroll and finance system.
Paula has been an integral part of our team, and her departure will undoubtedly leave a significant gap. Her enthusiasm, expertise, dedication, and hard work have been truly exceptional, and her initiative and ability to multitask have been nothing short of inspiring. Whether it was assisting with critical tasks or stepping in to help wherever needed, Paula always delivered with professionalism and grace.
We have also said goodbye to Nicky Arnold, our psychologist for the last 6 years. We appreciate the time and enthusiasm Nicky has bought to the role and to our school. Nicky leaves having supported a large number of children and their families and we wish her all the best.
Our most significant goodbye is to our Grade 6 class of 2024. Next week, we bid farewell to our wonderful group of Grade 6 students as they graduate and prepare for the next exciting chapter of their educational journey. Their achievements and growth throughout the year have been truly inspiring.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made Wednesday night's Graduation Celebration so fantastic. It was a joyful evening filled with reflection, gratitude, and hope for the future. We are incredibly proud of our graduating class and wish them every success and blessing in the years ahead.
Our after-school care program is a fantastic asset to the school and our partnership with the YMCA is a positive support for many families. After school care is growing steadily and often at capacity, however before school care is in need of more children. As a service it is only sustainable if used, please consider before school care for the 2025 school year. It’s a great program and the children are well cared for.
2025 will see our reformation of the School Advisory Council in its own right, we will be inviting parents to join our council as we move forward under the new governance structures of CESL. Please consider if you would like to become more involved on the school in this area of parental leadership and feel free to contact me
As this is our final newsletter for the year, I would like to thank our staff who have worked tirelessly to support, care and educate our children. Thanks also to our leadership team, Jo, Mandy and Shelley who have stepped up throughout the year, supporting the community and in particular the children, particularly during third term. Finally thank you to all parents for your support throughout the year and to the children, Holy Rosary is a great place to come each day, not perfect but certainly a great place to be.
Merry Christmas and a happy, safe and blessed New Year to everyone
