Jubilee Year

Pope Francis has declared 2025 to be a Jubilee Year. A Jubilee Year or Holy Year, in the Catholic Tradition, is a special year of forgiveness and reconciliation, in which people are invited to come back into right relationship with God, with one another, and with all of creation.

Opening Mass

As we begin a new school year, students and staff gathered in prayer for the Opening Mass and Liturgy. The Gospel reading for the day was the Beatitudes. Fr Mark challenged us to reflect on Jesus’ teachings and bring them to life here at our College this year by striving to become peacemakers and show compassion and mercy to all.

Thank you to Fr Mark for celebrating the mass with us. Thank you also to all of the student volunteers who helped bring the celebrations together.

Heart of Salvado

Thank you to our Salvado families who contributed to the Heart of Salvado Christmas gift collection last year.

Please see this message received at the end of last year from Michael Patrick – the Principal of John Pujajangka-Piyirn Catholic School.

I wanted to reach out and thank the Salvado Catholic College school community and the Heart of Salvado Outreach Program for their very generous donations for our school and the broader community.

Yesterday at our end of year concert we distributed the amazing Christmas Gifts to the students and children throughout Mulan and every child had a massive smile from ear to ear.

This project has a lasting impact for our students and families as not only joyous gifts but also the practical ones give the children so much needed resources that often are not available in remote locations or cost an absolute bomb.

So on behalf of John Pujajangka-Piyirn School and the Mulan Community, I would like to say thank you to your deadly school community and amazing staff!
~ Michael Patrick

Feast Day of St Scholastica

St Scholastica is the twin sister of St Benedict and was also deeply committed to monastic life, establishing the Benedictine Nuns. Her feast day is on 10 February. She is the patron saint of Benedictine Nuns, education and children who experience convulsions.

Pope Francis' Monthly Prayer Intention

In February, we pray for vocations to the priesthood and religious life.

Let us pray that the ecclesial community might welcome the desires and doubts of those young people who feel a call to serve Christ's mission in the priesthood and religious life.
