Sport Mashup

The year 9 cohort recently completed their ‘Sport Mashup’ unit in PE. 

In this unit, students grouped together to create an innovative, fair, and engaging sport for their peers to play through inspiration from two sports of their choice. 

Students had to tackle issues they encountered during the game and had to use their problem-solving skills to implement ideas that allowed all players to be involved in the games. 

Teaching and refereeing their games encouraged students to get out of their comfort zones and develop crucial skills of communication, and they had to exercise collaborative and teamwork skills in the process of making these games. 

Overall, the process of creating, refining, teaching and regulating games was an engaging way for students to develop crucial skills they will take through Nossal and beyond, while having fun!
