It feels as though we have only just begun, but it is amazing to think that we are already approaching the halfway mark of this shortened term. For this reason, it has been pleasing to see and hear the students settling into their work, particularly the Year 12s as they recognise their schooling life is rapidly coming to an end.
The heat has been an extra hurdle for our students and staff to overcome this past fortnight, but everyone has approached it with great sensibility and maturity.
This week I spoke with the students about how impressed I have been with how they have represented the College in the community and reminded them that their behaviour in classes and boarding should reflect the same values they are portraying to the general public. As a College, it is a part of our mission to empower young adults in their final years of schooling through a professional workplace culture and high levels of responsibility, and this responsibility includes behaving in a way that is not disruptive, is polite and respectful, and ensures the safety of others. The College's focus on a Positive Behaviour Culture ultimately assists the students in developing the appropriate behaviours to succeed in further employment and/or further education.
I would like to warmly welcome to the 2024 College Board as Parent representatives, Bronwyn de Fin, Gavin Hagboom and Janelle Lane. I look forward to working with you in this very important area of our school governance.
Thank you to all the parents that considered nominating - your support is very much appreciated. As the election was uncontested, Bronwyn, Gavin and Janelle were deemed elected without the need for a vote.
Interviews for Year 11 in 2025 are well underway. If you have a child interested in coming to Cunderdin Ag College next year or know of families who are contemplating applying, I strongly suggest they apply online via our website as soon as possible. Demand is still strong and first round offers are scheduled for Week 2 Term 2.
The first closed weekend for 2024 is Friday March 1, 2024. The College closes at 3:00pm - please do not request earlier leave than required. Students can return to the College after 4.00pm on Monday March 4, 2024. An evening meal will be provided as long as students’ leave indicates they will be returning before 5.30pm.
