In PE we have been busy learning and practising events for our Whole School Athletics Carnival. Over the last two weeks, students have been focusing on the following:
Prep: shuttle relay, hurdles, long jump and tunnel ball
Grade 1/2: shuttle relay, vortex, hurdles, long jump and tunnel ball
Grade 3/4: hurdles and high jump
Grade 5/6: hurdles, long jump and triple jump
The carnival will be held on Wednesday the 6th of March at Morrison Reserve Athletics Track. Students are encouraged to wear their house colours on the day!
Our Grade 5/6 District Summer Sports Day has been locked in for the 1st of March. We will have 9 teams participating across the four different sports: 3 x volleyball teams, 2 x softball teams, 2 x cricket teams and 2 x tennis teams. Thank you to the parents who have offered to help so far. We still need an adult to help with our tennis group. If your child is participating in tennis on the day, you have a current Working with Children Check, and you can help, please contact me ASAP.
Congratulations to Chelsea and Ria who participated in the Montrose District Swimming Carnival today. Both girls swam amazingly and produced the following results:
Chelsea - 1st 11 girls 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke and 50m butterfly
Ria - 4th 9/10 girls 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke
Well done girls, we are all very proud of you!
