Black Snake Productions Incursion - Australia's Vanishing Species

On Tuesday the 13th of February a company named Black Snake Productions came to Park Ridge Primary to teach us about endangered Australian animals and about how to stay safe when we are out on bush walks and just general safety.

We were shown so many amazing animals and just to name a few we have Luna and her babies which are squirrel gliders which have an amazing ability to extend their arms and they have skin in between so they can glide. Another animal we met is ash a masked owl which can be found in forests and woodlands. A cool fact about them is they can fly silently.

It is very important that when we meet animals in the wild that we don’t interact them and that if we do see one, we make sure that we don’t feed them because if we do it could break the ecosystem’s delicate balance. A way we can all help is by getting a native endangered animal as a pet. It may sound like we are hurting the them but we are actually saving them from extinction. You do need a license and it does cost a little bit of money but it’s worth it. Also, NEVER hurt a snake. It’s illegal, but wrong as well.

We learnt so much and we all really enjoyed it. We learnt lots about wild life and endangered species we would like to thank Black Snakes Productions for being there. We would also like to give an extra special thank you to Britt for coming out to teach us.
