Lab Report

A big week in Science this week.

The Year 6 students are working on extreme environments and the animals that live there, including research, labelled diagrams and will be starting their polymer clay models in the coming weeks.

The Year 5 students have finished their work on plants that live in extreme environments, creating polymer clay models of their interesting and sometimes unusual plants that they can take home with them, however right now the rest of the school have been having a look at their amazing work (see pictures below). This week they were watching the Kiss the Ground documentary (for school edition) which is also available for viewing on Netflix.

The Year 4 students are continuing their work with A Life on our Planet, many of them coming into science this week and sharing that they watched it over the weekend with their families.

The Year 3 students have been creating their Nature Journals, taking the time to slow down and observe their environments, creating lists, drawing what they have seen and labelling it, thinking about nature sounds and colours. These will be their Portfolio task this term, and will be finished off next week.

The Year 2 students were aged using an aging app so that they could see themselves at different stages of life. Parents have been asked to email or send a hard copy of a baby photo so that students can have a baby, child and elderly person in their books.

Year 1 students have been busy working out the best place for different types of animals to live using the Alison Lester book, Imagine.

Finally, the Foundation students had a great lesson thinking about someone in their family that they have a resemblance to, be it hair colour, eye colour or just a great smile.

Fantastic work everyone!
