Autumn Fair update
8 weeks to go
Hello Steiner Family Community,
Plans are moving along for the Autumn Fair! We still need coordinators for Cassia, Class 5, and Class 8. Grab a friend or a group of people to coordinate with and enjoy getting connected to the community, giving back, and spending time with other members of the community. Each stall contributes something unique and lovely to the day and every family has something to contribute! Class 4 parents would love to have you join us in putting together this memorable day for the entire Mparntwe community! Please let any Class 4 parent know if you are willing to put your hand up for anything.
We are also looking for entertainers. If you're a performer, let us know and we can sign you up for a time slot on the day.
Our next fair meeting will be 17 April @ 7pm at 10 Cromwell Drive. Looking forward to seeing you there!
8 weeks to go!

Brittany & Veronika
Class 3 Stall News
We need your empty jars for the Autumn Fair! Only donate jars that are around 500 mls and have the labels removed.
Please begin propagating seedlings for the Class 3 plant sale.
If you're making preserves, please ensure jars and lids are sterilised properly! Directions here:
STERILISING – ‘HOW TO’ OPTIONS
- Check the jars to make sure there are no chips or cracks (when hot jam enters the jar the whole thing can shatter).
- Give the bottles and lids a good wash in hot soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
- You must sterilize jars and lids – it is not optional ☺ There are a few ways so choose what works for you.
IN THE OVEN
Heating the jars in the oven. Stand the jars upright on a baking sheet lined with kitchen roll or newspaper and put them into a cold oven. Set the temperature to 110C and bake for 30 min. Do this just before you want to use them and allow to cool only slightly before filling with jam. Pour boiling water over lids.
WATER WAY
Line the base of a big pot with a tea towel and stand the jars upright on it, now fill the pot with water to cover the jars. Bring the pot of water up to a boil and let it boil for 10 min. Carefully remove the jars and stand them upside-down on a clean tea towel to drain. Set them the right way up and fill while still warm. Make sure you do the lids as well.
MICROWAVE
Half fill your clean jars with water and heat on full power until you can see the water has boiled and bubbled for 1 minute. Carefully remove the jars from the microwave and swish the water around the jar before draining and allowing to dry.
DISHWASHER
If you happen to be blessed by a dishwasher in your kitchen then this is by far the easiest method for you to use. Just load up the machine with your jars, bottles and lids and let the machine do its work on the hottest setting.
