CURRICULUM FOCUS

This week we are learning to create a sentence using the Magic 100 Words. Students will be creating a sentence about their language experiences drawing on their knowledge of Magic 100 Words to create the sentence.

VOCABULARY

Sentence: A set of words that convey a message, question or statement.

Magic Words: High frequency words which make up 70% of all words in English.

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

At home, have your child create a sentence about their day using their Magic 100 Words in their book. Have your child verbalise their sentence and then encourage them to have a go at recording the sentence using their Magic 100 Words book for spelling and using

the initial sound of unknown words.
