John 3:16

God's Love

What do you love to do?

  • Hanging out with friends and family?
  • Listening to or playing music?
  • Reading books?
  • Playing games?
  • Playing sport?

When we love someone or love to do something we give them our full attention and want to enjoy being with them or doing the activity as much as possible.

Other than my family, I love sport, in particular cricket and AFL football.

When I was younger, I enjoyed playing sport and eventually found myself umpiring AFL football on the MCG. It took a lot of commitment and hard work to get there but I enjoyed it because I loved it.

Jesus was asked what the most important thing is we should do. Who or What should we love the most?

Jesus replied with, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.” (Mark 12:30)

This is to love God with all that we are. To hear his promises and instruction in the bible, talk to him in prayer, and show love to him and others in what we do.

Jesus calls us to do this because God loves you with all of his heart, soul, mind and body. He loves you personally and knows every one of us personally. God knows us better than we know ourselves. That is amazing!

God loves you so much that his love is greater than all of ours combined. So much so that he sent his son Jesus Christ to die on a cruel cross to forgive us when we don’t always love God with our whole heart, soul, mind and body. God’s love does amazing things.

God will always love you more – from here to heaven, for eternity.

Enjoy God’s love, and loving God with all of your heart, soul, mind and body.

Thanks and God bless you all.

The message of Easter is the message of love. A family meal on Maundy Thursday, the extent of the Father’s love shown in Jesus’ death for us on Good Friday and the celebration of living in the reality of all that Jesus’ resurrection has won for us!

You’re invited to join us over Easter to partake, reflect, worship and celebrate God’s love for us! Flyers available in the Front Office.
