Harmony Day

21st of March 2024

Good Shepherd had a wonderful 2024 celebration of Harmony Day. Harmony Day is all about making sure everyone feels like they belong, no matter where in the world they are from. Students were invited to wear a splash of orange and various activities were completed in the classroom. In Year 6, students researched a country they were interested in learning more about. In Year 1, students learned about various aspects of different cultures, such as some Indian dance moves and Chinese New Year. The Wellbeing Leaders ran an assembly, sharing what Harmony Day means to them, before inviting a representative from each class to come up and share what Harmony Day means to their class.

This is what Harmony Day means to our Wellbeing Leaders;

Harmony Day means celebrating Australia’s multiculturalism.

Jin

Harmony Day means accepting everyone no matter their culture or religion.

Ellie N

Harmony Day means respecting and celebrating all cultures.

Mackenzie

Harmony Day means bringing our hands together as one.

Shania

Harmony Day means coming together as a community and making sure everyone is treated fairly.

Jamie

Thank you to everyone for getting involved in what is such a special and important day for Good Shepherd and the wider community.
