School Assemblies

Beginning Term 2, we are delighted to announce that school assemblies will be commencing for our whole-school community!

As a vibrant community dedicated to fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and celebration, we believe that school assemblies play a pivotal role in nurturing a sense of unity and pride among our students. With this in mind, we have eagerly anticipated the opportunity to reintroduce assemblies. 

In preparation for this initiative, we actively sought feedback from our esteemed teachers, dedicated staff, and engaged parent community to ensure that our assemblies align with best practices and serve the needs of our students effectively. After careful consideration and thoughtful deliberation, we are pleased to unveil the following structure for our assemblies:

Frequency: 

Assemblies will take place fortnightly to provide regular opportunities for our students, teachers and families to come together as a community, commencing Monday 22nd of April.

The Performing Arts Building

When:

Monday

Week 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10

Time:

9:00 - 9:30am 

Content: 

Each assembly will feature a diverse range of engaging content, including student performances, presentations, awards ceremonies, and special announcements, tailored to celebrate achievements and showcase the talents of our students.

Themes and Values: 

We will incorporate meaningful themes and values into our assemblies, allowing students to explore important concepts such as responsibility, respect, honesty, care and acceptance and doing our best, fostering a deeper understanding of these principles within our school community.

Student Involvement: 

Each year level will be assigned an assembly to which the students will be actively involved in the planning and delivery of assemblies, empowering them to take ownership of these events and develop essential skills such as public speaking, leadership, and teamwork. 

Parent Engagement: 

We welcome all families in the Good Shepherd community to join us for assemblies throughout the year, providing opportunities for family involvement and strengthening the bond between home and school.

We believe that our assemblies will serve as a platform for inspiration, creativity, and community building, enriching the educational experience for our students and reinforcing our shared values as a school community.
