Acting Deputy Principal Message

A message from Ferial as Acting Principal during Jacqui's leave

As we conclude Term 1, I am filled with pride and gratitude for the dedication and enthusiasm demonstrated by our students, teachers, and staff. Despite the busyness of Term 1 and the challenges it can cause, our school community has remained resilient and committed to providing a supportive and engaging learning environment for all. From academic achievements to personal growth, it's inspiring to witness the progress made by each and every student. As we look back on the past few months, let us celebrate our successes, learn from our experiences, and continue to strive for excellence in all that we do.

Year 5 Camp

The Year 5 camp to Camp Rumbug was an unforgettable adventure filled with laughter, learning, and new experiences. Our students embraced challenges, formed lasting friendships, and discovered the joy of outdoor exploration. From team-building activities to campfire stories, every moment was an opportunity for growth and discovery. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff who made this experience possible, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on our students for years to come.

Year 6 Camp

The Year 6 camp to Campaspe Downs provided our students with an invaluable opportunity to step out of their comfort zones, embrace new challenges, and develop essential life skills. From conquering high ropes courses to navigating nature trails, our students demonstrated courage, resilience, and teamwork at every turn. As they bonded with peers and connected with nature, they also gained a deeper appreciation for the world around them. We extend our sincere appreciation to the camp organizers and chaperones for their dedication and support in making this memorable experience possible.

NAPLAN

The NAPLAN assessments for our Year 3 and Year 5 students will provide valuable insights into their academic progress and areas for further development. These assessments, focusing on writing, reading, conventions of language, and numeracy, serve as benchmarks for student achievement and school improvement. While they represent just one aspect of our students' learning journey, they provide valuable data to inform our teaching practices and support our students' growth and success. We commend our students for their hard work and determination during these assessments and remain committed to providing them with the support and resources they need to thrive academically and personally.

Harmony Day

Harmony Day, celebrated on Thursday, March 21st, was a vibrant and heartwarming occasion at our school as students embraced the spirit of diversity and inclusivity. From traditional attire to creative accessories, each splash of orange symbolized our commitment to unity and respect for all. Throughout the day, students participated in a range of activities celebrating cultural diversity. As laughter echoed through the corridors and friendships blossomed across cultural boundaries, Harmony Day served as a powerful reminder of the beauty that arises when we come together in harmony, celebrating our differences and embracing our shared humanity. Thank you to our Wellbeing Leaders, Bridget Wilson and Megan Skoda for organising such a lively and inclusive Harmony Day celebration.

Holy Thursday

This morning was a poignant and deeply meaningful experience for our students as they participated in the Stations of the Cross. Led by our students, each station became a moment of introspection, inviting us to contemplate the sacrifices made for us and the enduring message of love and redemption. It served as a powerful opportunity for our students to deepen their understanding of the Easter story and to embrace its timeless lessons of hope and salvation. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Religious Education Coordinators, Vanessa Lamanna and Annie McPhee, for their dedication and commitment in organizing the re-enactment, enriching our spiritual journey and fostering a deeper connection to our faith community.

Isobel Clark

We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to Isobel Clark for her dedication and teaching during Term 1 with 3 Atkins. Isobel's passion for education and tireless efforts have undoubtedly made a significant impact on the learning journey of our students. Isobel will continue to be a part of our school community as a Casual Relief Teacher, and we eagerly anticipate her continued contributions to the success and growth of our students. Thank you, Isobel, for your invaluable service and commitment to education.

Alexis Atkins

In Term 2, we will warmly welcome back Alexis Atkins from a period of family leave. Alexis will resume her role as the teacher for 3 Atkins for the remainder of the academic year. With several years of dedicated service as a teacher at Good Shepherd, Alexis brings a wealth of experience, expertise, and a deep understanding of our school community. Her return will undoubtedly benefit our students, providing them with continuity, support, and the opportunity to continue their educational journey under her guidance. We look forward to the positive impact that Alexis will continue to have on our students' learning and development.

As we approach the Easter period and the upcoming holiday break, I want to take a moment to extend my warmest wishes to each member of our school community. May this Easter be a time of peace, reflection, and joy for you and your families, filled with moments of renewal and gratitude. Please keep yourselves safe and well during this holiday period, whether you're exploring new places or cherishing moments at home.

I'm eagerly anticipating the return of all students and staff to school for Term 2, where we'll embark on a new chapter of learning, growth, and shared experiences together.
