We are a country surrounded by water and swimming knowledge, skills and safety are a vital life skill. In week 3 and week 4 our Grade F-2 and Grade 6 students will be taking part in their annual school swimming program. This program is part of our students Physical Education program and is an important part of our student's development and safety in and around water.
Students are required to wear their bathers under their school uniform to school and bring a change of clothes, a swimming cap, goggles, thongs or sandals, towels, drink bottle and their asthma medication. Towards the later stages of the Grade 6 program students will be asked to bring a change of clothes that they can wear in the water to practice water safety skills.
Thank you for your support of this program and your child's aquatic skill development.
Our BPS Grade 3 - 6 team of selected runners will be representing BPS on Friday 10th May at Ruffey Lake Park, Doncaster. Our team will travel to and from the event as a team by bus. A double sided sheet was handed out to each runner last term at our meeting which gave details about the day and on the back of the sheet a map of the 2km and 3km courses at Ruffey Lake. If you've never run this before it may be worth going to have a look at the course before the event.
Volunteer helpers needed
We require three volunteers from BPS with a current WWCC to help the day run safely and efficiently. If you can help as a course marshal on the day of this event please contact Mrs P at
merissa.pickford@education.vic.gov.au
Have a great term BPS!
Have fun and move on!!!!
