Student Learning

Whats happened around the school

Grades 1 & 2

Grade 2 does mindfulness every day in different ways to build our toolkit of things we can do when we need to reset our minds.

In Positive Education, the Grade 1 and 2 students have been learning about being part of a TEAM. Students were divided into groups, with each member given a specific role: Leader, Timekeeper, Materials and Reporter. They were set the challenge of building the tallest freestanding tower they could using no more than 50 unifix blocks. Students needed to think about their role in the team as well as working together to problem solve. This involved lots of trial and error, with groups figuring out that they would need a stable base to build their tower.

What do you think makes a good team member?

Performing Arts News

Thank you to all the parents, grandparents, siblings, family and friends who have come and joined in Performing Arts classes over the last few days.

It had been wonderful having so many visitors join us for dancing, singing, instruments and lots of fun. The foundation, grade 1s and grade 2s have taught their families dances from Tonga, Tuvalu, Samoa, The Philippines, Italy, The Netherlands,  New Zealand, and Australia .

They have shown their families how to play drums, tambourines, maracas, and more. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend and to the wonderful students for showcasing your talents
