Farewelling Ted

Ted Dugdale is finishing his time at Kalinda PS next week (his last day will be Thursday 2nd May). He has received an amazing job opportunity outside of the school system, and we are both delighted that Ted has this great opportunity, but also very sad to see him go.

Ted has been working here at Kalinda for approximately 10 years, but his involvement as a parent, who volunteered to support the school in every possible way goes back a lot further than that.

As many of you would know, Ted has been integral to every facet of this school. Fixing things when they break, collecting balls from the roof, mowing the lawn, organising working bees, helping on the sausage sizzle, attending camps, etc. The list of jobs that Ted does is endless. If you ever need a key to anything in this school, Ted knows which one it will be and he will have it hanging off his belt.

Ted, you will be greatly missed as a beloved and valued staff member at Kalinda, but you will forever be part of our school community. Your name will live on through the Dugdale Cup (an intra-school sports competition named in Ted's honour) and I know you will continue to be part of our school community forever.

Thank you so much for everything you have done for the staff, students and families at Kalinda.

To celebrate and farewell Ted, we will be holding a special Assembly next Thursday 2nd May at 2:45pm. We welcome everyone to come along and thank him for the amazing contribution he has made.

ANZAC Dawn Service

Our school captains will be attending Ringwood RSL's ANZAC Dawn Service to lay a wreath on behalf of the school. We are grateful to be invited by the RSL to attend this service and Remembrance Day services each year.

Welcome to Megumi

We are very pleased to have welcomed our Japanese intern, Megumi Ikishima, to our school from the beginning of this term. Megumi is a highly experienced teacher from Japan and is making a fantastic contribution to our Japanese program.

A huge thank you to those families who are hosting Megumi. The Japanese intern program is not possible without your contribution.
