Level 1

Level 1 have come back from holidays with enthusiasm and excitement to get back into their learning. We have been able to talk about all the wonderful things we got up to over the holidays and have enjoyed getting back into a routine.

Literacy

Reading/Writing/Spelling

Over the past 2 weeks, students have begun learning about narratives, unpacking the means of characters and settings. Students have also had lots of fun looking and learning about nursery rhymes where we have been able to get together as a cohort and listen to the teachers portray the characters of 'goldilocks and the three bears' and the '3 little pigs'. They have enjoyed being able to use a range of skills to enhance their understanding of the stories.

Numeracy

Our Level 1 students have begun learning about addition. Students have been exploring using hands-on materials to explore 2 and 3 digit number equations. They have been able to attempt to open-ended questioning with partners using money with the use of addition strategies.

Inquiry

Level 1 have begun their new topic called ‘The power in you’. The students had the chance to name their topic to be able to understand right and wrong decisions. They have enjoyed playing a range of games to understand the impact of choices and the importance of showing kindness, respect and teamwork in games and real-life situations.
