ISN Psychology - No-Cost Therapy and Low-Cost Cognitive Testing

ISN Clinic (Bundoora, Kew and Moorabbin at the Danny Frawley Centre) is reaching out to Melbourne schools to update parents on their current waitlist status: no-cost therapy and low-cost cognitive testing.

Please note that ISN is not affiliated with SMPS. We send this information in support of our families who may be seeking these services at low or no cost.

ISN has a Community Clinic, run by 5th year Masters Provisional Psychologists, supervised by board-approved Senior Clinical Psychologists.

ISN's community clinics provide free, unlimited therapy sessions with a referral for ages from 5yo to 95yo. They offer face to face, telehealth or a hybrid of sessions at any one of their clinics.

Learning/Cognitive assessment costs are a flat rate of $750 for everything (all assessments, all appointments associated with the testing, the feedback session and the report).

Adults & Children/Adolescents

ADHD Assessment cost is $400 for all assessments, appointments associated with testing, the feedback session and report.

Intake calls are a free 15-30 min phone call with the intake clinician. During this call, the clinician will gather information and match each client up with the appropriate service, assessments and clinician. You will then be put on the waiting list, and booked in with a clinician should you wish to go ahead.

ISN also have a private clinic based at Kew, where 6th year Masters Provisional Psychologists and registered psychologists can also provide assessments and therapy along with General and Clinic Psychologists. Therapy in the private clinic, with a 6th year registered Masters Provisional Psychologist is $60 or $30 with a health care card/concession. There is no Mental Health Care Plan required and no limitation to the number of sessions. Sessions with senior clinical psychologists will require a GP referral and gap fees will apply.

Please don't hesitate to contact ISN if you have any further questions

Online Safety

The internet connects us with the world, including family and friends locally and overseas, through messages, live video chat and even playing online games.

Being online can be positive and fun and help children and young people learn and connect with others. But sometimes it can expose children and young people to risks. Together we can help keep all children and young people safe.

This advice sheet helps families learn more about online child exploitation and how to get help and support.

The eSafety Commissioner (eSafety) and the Australian Federal Police-led Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation have developed conversation starters to help you talk with your child to keep them safe from harm.

Free Events for Children in the Local Area

Note these are not connected with SMPS.

Ancient Egypt for Kids is a free exhibition inviting children to unlock the mysteries of ancient Egypt through a series of activities exploring the art and culture of this fascinating world.

Coinciding with the Melbourne Winter Masterpieces exhibition Pharaoh at NGV International, this interactive exhibition will captivate young visitors and their families with displays of ancient Egyptian objects from NGV’s Collection, including a decorated coffin lid, over 2,500 years old, along with a space filled with gleaming gold walls and floor-to-ceiling hieroglyphs.

The exhibition is designed to evoke the mystery and wonder of ancient Egyptian culture. Children will step into a space to discover a golden funerary head covering and an elaborately decorated coffin illuminated to reveal imagery of gods, goddesses and hieroglyphic inscriptions. Through these objects, the artistry and craftsmanship of ancient Egyptian society comes to life.
