Book Week (26th – 30th August)

The exciting time of Book Week is upon us! This is an opportunity for students to be immersed in books and celebrate their favourite titles by dressing up. 

The theme of Book Week for this year is: Reading is Magic!

Parade:

The Book Week Parade will be held on Friday 30th August between 9:30am-11:00am. Students are encouraged to create a costume that highlights the theme for Book Week or their favourite book. We would love to have our SMPS community attend the parade to be part of the fun that will ensue. Please come to the school gym at 9:30am. The SMPS staff are looking forward to seeing creative costumes and to show off their own! Here are some ideas:

Book Fair

Lamont Book Fair is Coming to SMPS This Week!

The Book Fair will be set up in the library and students will get a chance to view books during school time. Parents/guardians may either place orders online or attend the book fair to purchase books directly. Students must be accompanied by an adult to attend the Book Fair. Come along to find the best new books and help to earn free books for our library!

Payments and Ordering

The book fair accepts credit and debit cards only – no cash.

If parents/guardians are unable to attend the book fair, then online orders are available. Children will fill out books on a Wish List and bring it home to show you. Follow the instructions on the Wish List to place an online order. 

All online orders must be placed by Thursday 29th August 12pm

Instructions for paying online

1. Click on the online payment portal link https://payments.lamontauthors.com.au/ 
2. Complete all details including the full title and price of items to purchase 
3. Calculate the total amount of the books being purchased and pay that total.
4. Return a copy of the payment receipt to Ms Zoe at the library or via zoe.danaher@smps.vic.edu.au. 
5. Students will be given their books the week following the book fair.

It's time for creative flair to flourish and the love of literature to soar during the amazing time of Book Week! 

ICAS 

Maths: 

• A reminder to registered families that ICAS Maths will be held this Wednesday morning. Please ensure your child brings their device fully-charged.

English: 

• English results are due back in the coming weeks. We will let you know when they are released. 
• Families will need to log in using their TAP-ID and PIN to access these results. The TAP-ID and PIN are the same each year. 
  • You can find them on the back of a previous year’s ICAS certificate. 
  • If your child has not sat ICAS before or you have lost your TAP-ID and PIN, you can request them using this form. You will receive them within 1-3 business days. We recommend doing this now so you are ready when the results are publish.
