We kindly ask all students and families to please ensure that the bike shed gate is closed securely after use. Unfortunately, the gate has been left open frequently, which compromises the security of everyone's bikes and scooters. Parents, if your child travels to school by bike or scooter, please remind them to close the gate behind them. Let's not assume the next person will do it - taking a moment to secure the gate helps protect everyone's property.
A reminder to please look in Lost Property if your child has lost anything. All clothing, lunchboxes and water bottles are stored on the ground floor outside the library.
Labelled clothing often makes its way back to students, but the best way is to check the Lost Property tub regularly.
Any unnamed clothing items that remain unclaimed at the end the term will be put into sickbay for accidents or donated to the Second-Hand Uniform Shop. All lunchbox containers or water bottles that have not been collected by the last day of term will be thrown out, as these can cause a hygiene risk.
Please remember to label all of your child's property to ensure everything can be returned to the appropriate student.
Lost Property can be found outside of the library.
At SMPS we are lucky enough to have the highest quality staff working within our building. Our staff are ambitious, proactive, skillful and most importantly, love working with our kids.
Here are some bios of new staff who have joined since mid-Term 1. If you see them around, reach out and say hello (even if they don't work in your child's year level). Community is very important to us at SMPS - belonging to our community is something special that all people in our building share.
Miss Mia
Hello SMPS community!
My name is Miss Mia, and I have the pleasure of being one of our Inclusion Aides. I provide support in the Prep classes, as well as occasional support throughout the day to other year levels.
I started in Term 1 of 2024, and have loved every day in Prep! As I learn more about each student every day, I am constantly finding new ways to connect with them, and it brings me so much joy.
Outside of SMPS, I am studying a Bachelor of Social Work and Bachelor of Psychology double degree. I am passionate about understanding the complexities of the mind and how this makes us all so unique and special.
If I am not working or studying, you will probably find me either crocheting or reading.
I am so excited to learn more about the children, staff, and families at SMPS, and becoming closer to such a supportive and aspiring community.
Kind regards,
Mia
Ms Parul
Dear SMPS students and families,
My name is Parul and I am extremely excited to be a part of the SMPS community, as an Inclusion Aide.
I began my SMPS journey in 2018 with OSHClub, being the Assistant Coordinator. Throughout the past 5 years, I have had the pleasure of running engaging activities for students and getting to know them and their wonderful families.
I look forward to taking my experiences from Osh and applying them to this new role. I believe that trying something new and challenging yourself helps you to become a better person!
A little bit about me...I love trying new dishes from different cuisines and travelling with my family and experiencing different cultures around the world. I especially love dancing, drama and music as growing up, I used to participate a lot in my school and represent my culture through the arts.
I have an 8-year-old daughter whom some of you may know as she attends this school, and my husband is a techie developing codes and providing system solutions to his clients.
I look forward to seeing you all around and getting to know you better.
Best regards,
Parul Agarwal
