Principal's Message
Our children are our future...
Welcome to Week 7 of a ten week term. I hope the world is going well for you and you are embracing the idea of being alive.
On Wednesday, I had the pleasure of seeing the Year 3 and 4 students being driven off in coaches towards their camp. The looks on their faces were precious and all reports indicated they were having a whale of a time. There are always a few bumps and bruises when children go on camp and it prepares them well for the game of life. I want to thank all families who sent their children off to camp as we realise it is just as big a deal for families as it is for the kids. Thanks also to our wonderful staff who sacrifice their personal time to bring this experience to the children.
We have our annual Book Week Parade this coming Friday (August 30) in the gymnasium. Don't make too much fuss - just send your child with some simple costume so they feel part of the parade taking place in the gym at 9:30am. Parents are welcome to join in on the fun by attending the parade.
Our Production is going full speed ahead. Monday, September 9 at 5:30pm is the big day and we just can't wait. Please grab those tickets so we gather as a community to celebrate our children performing on stage.
I have the privilege of working with your children and our great staff each day. We had a number of schools visiting last week viewing excellence in classrooms so they could learn from our practice. I am so proud of SMPS and that is only possible because of the combined effort of our community. Long may you prosper.
