Hands on Learning
1/2 Zoo Excursion
The sun was shining as the 1/2 students arrived at Melbourne Zoo, and the weather remained sunny throughout the day. The students were buzzing with excitement as they went out to explore the different animal exhibits. The education workshop focussed on habitats, lifecycles, animal classification and features. As well as a visit to Little John and Wilbur the giant tortoises.
Everyone enjoyed visiting the butterfly house and seeing the giraffes, gorillas, orangutans, lions, tigers, baboons, lemurs, meerkats and elephants (despite the smell). The day was a huge success and the students are commended for their excellent behaviour.

3/4 Landcare
3/4HF had a really fun day of learning today! We had a visit from Landcare to support our 'Amongst the Gum Trees' Science subject. The children will be able to tell you what they learnt about gum trees, minibeasts, animal tracks and scats. I've attached photos of the bravest members of our group! We will be planting some gumtree seeds next week so if anyone has any margarine or yoghurt containers etc that we could use as pots that would be greatly appreciated.
