From our Parents Commitee
Dear community,
We hope everyone enjoyed Africa /Dom Tom Day this week. It takes a lot of energy and vision to put on an event, and especially a new event at the School. A huge thanks to our Africa / Dom Tom day team for their efforts and dedication, in particular our event coordinators Clarel Philibert, Pascale Fedele and Philomen Sadi Mateta.
But wait – there is more – on Friday, 21 June we will celebrate Fête de la Musique for the first time! There will be a festive atmosphere, crepes, music and the premier of the CJC Parent’s band! Children are welcome to wear some party clothing to school, but additional decoration and adornment must wait until after school. See our separate page in the newsletter on this event and how to register to help and PERFORM!!
Friday Treats: We will sell pain aux chocolate ($4) from Reverie Café after school from 3.30pm until 3.45pm (except on Fête de la Musique when we will sell crepes). Profits from our sale on 28 June will be donated to the Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency as part of our contribution to NAIDOC week: Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency | VACCA
CJC Families Facebook Group: Did you know that we have a CJC Facebook Group called CJC Families? The page is used to inform our community of CJC Events, sell 2nd hand uniform, find a babysitter and more. The page is private, and you must be a CJC community member and answer the questions to join.
EFM - Call for Volunteers: The EFM provides a range of francophone services to our CJC community, including running the ever-popular EFM after school activities. The EFM is looking for additional volunteers to support the management of these programs and other programs. Joining the EFM IS a great way to deepen your francophone connections at CJC and beyond. Please contact president@efm.org.au if you can assist.
Gardening Club: We also have some interested parents who have established a CJC Parent Gardening Team to assist Madame Wilson’s STEM and Garden Program. Contact us at caulfieldjuniorpc@gmail.com
For all parents and carer’s wishing to volunteer at the school it is essential that you obtain your Working With Children Check – you can apply on line here and it is free for volunteers: Working with Children Check (service.vic.gov.au)
Amy Pate – President, Julia Yuncken – Secretary, Anne-Sophie Aguado – Treasurer and Martine Inge – Head Convenor.
