In the Prep corner

Over the last two weeks the Prep students have taken part in the Fire Ed Program with Fire Rescue Victoria. This is part of their ongoing learning in their Inquiry topic ‘People in the community who can help us’. 

 

  • The Preps have learnt lots of new and important information, including the following: 
  • Firefighters are helpers in our community
  • Good fires and bad fires
  • Crawl low in smoke "crawl down low, go go go"
  • Safe meeting places, if there is a fire
  • What is an Emergency? 000 (Triple Zero). 

The Preps also had the opportunity to get up close with a fire truck, have a turn of using the water hose and even got to watch the firefighters rush off to a real emergency!

 

 

Lightning Premiereship

Our CJC sports teams left this morning to participate in the Lightning Premiereship of our District. Students compete in a range of team sports, which include netball, soccer, AFL football and Tee Ball against many different schools within our school district.  More information will follow when we get the results.  Here are a few images from the event:
