Japanese
Foundation students learnt how to say 3 different shapes - Circle (Maru), Triangle (San-kaku) and Square (Shi-kaku) in Japanese through speech, artwork and singing the Japanese shape song. They learnt that the number 3 (San) implies that a triangle (San-kaku) has 3 corners and that a square (Shi-kaku) has 4 (Shi) corners. They enjoyed making one of the shapes with ripped small pieces of colour paper.
In Year 1, students could retell the story of "Where is the Green Sheep?" in Japanese. It was nice to see how confidently students could say a few long sentences in Japanese. It was fantastic to see them embracing the moment and expressing themselves in front of the class. Well done!
