Around the College

Farewell for Term 2 - see you in Term 3!

Today is the final day of Term 2 - it has been a long term so well done to all the students for keeping their focus throughout the last 11 weeks. Please note Monday, July 15 is a student free day so we will see everyone back in Term 3 from Tuesday, July 16 with the exception of Unit 4 students who will return on July 15.

Hot Diggity Dogs!

The St Anne’s College Community Action Team (CAT) continue to create innovative ways to raise funds for our charity donations. Leading up to the end of this Term, the CAT ran Hot Dog Lunches for students! A huge congratulations to the CAT for their awesome efforts in the kitchen!

𝗦𝗮𝘆 (𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘀𝗲)𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀!

Staff were treated to a lunchtime burger day last week from the Year 12 PDS class. The music was pumping, the burgers were flipping and the smiles kept coming, all while the class banded together to achieve their 40+ custom orders. Teamwork, leadership, planning and organisation were on show with community wellbeing the outcome.

Well done team on a successful, 𝗷𝗼𝘆ful and delicious event!

Chess Club

Lunchtime clubs continue to be popular among students. Students recently took part in the Chess Club where they put their skills and strategy to the test. The activity is a great way for students to connect through shared interest and develop their chess skills at the same time.

Cross Country Competitors

Congratulations to the students who attended the next level of Cross Country in Benalla last week! Take a look at Brodie (Year 7), Karman (Year 9), Meaghan (Year 9) and Lillian (Year 10) in action below. Congratulations to Brodie for his efforts on placing first in his division!

Helping the environment

Our students joined forces recently to ensure the beautiful natural environment at St Anne’s College stays in pristine condition by doing a huge pick up of any rubbish that had been left lying around. It was fantastic to see the students taking such pride in their surrounds.

Here at the College, students are encouraged to leave no trace which also extends to the schoolyard. By working together as an entire school, the students connected to their natural environment while learning about the impact rubbish can have.

Well done to all the students and staff for their amazing efforts!

World Refugee Day

Mark's art students have flexed their talents again with this month's board! Thank you to Jagroop, Dawn & Parneet for their wonderful work. World Refugee Day was held on June 20 to celebrate and honour refugees from around the world. This year's theme, "Solidarity with Refugees", emphasises the importance of building inclusive health systems and ensuring equitable care for refugees worldwide.

Stage 3A – Progress Update

The build for Stage 3A of the St Anne’s College Masterplan is continuing to progress with this exciting stage set to offer classrooms for the fabricating streams.

It is hoped students will be able to enjoy the facilities by the beginning of 2025 which will include metal, wood, fabrics, robotics, 3D printing and more!

The new area will also include three large studio rooms, storage zones and three study/lab areas. Stage 3A will also see 20 new car parking spots added to the carpark as well as landscaping around the front and back of the building.
