With just two weeks left in Term Two, our students have been engaged in a range of activities and learning experiences that have enriched their educational journey.
Firstly, congratulations to our Year 10 students for successfully completing their first exam period. This milestone is a significant step in their academic journey, and we appreciate the support from parents and guardians who have helped them through this challenging time. Year 10 students will spend the upcoming week back at school receiving valuable exam feedback. This reflection period will allow them to understand their strengths and areas for improvement, setting the stage for future success.
Our Year 10s will now embark on a week of Work Experience in Term Two, Week 10. This practical experience offers an insight into various professional environments and potential career paths.
We extend our gratitude to everyone who has assisted in securing these placements, ensuring our students can make the most of it. I wish them all the very best as they enter into the world of work.
Last night, our Year 9s enjoyed an exciting social event with pizza on Level 4 and then a walk to ‘Escape This’ in the city – tackling a series of challenging escape rooms that required critical thinking, teamwork and problem-solving skills to find clues and make their escape. The enthusiasm and cooperation displayed by our students during this event were commendable, and it was wonderful to see them engage in such a fun and stimulating activity.
Earlier in the week Year 9 students spent Extended PCG in the company of Adam Przytula from Armed For Life who delivered a compelling presentation on the dangers of vaping. A candid look at the addiction and risks associated with vaping debunked common myths and highlighted the severe consequences it can have on a students physical and mental health. Importantly, the presentation also offered guidance on what steps to take if someone finds themselves addicted, equipping our students with knowledge and strategies for making healthier choices.
As we approach the end of Term Two, we are proud of our students’ efforts and achievements. Their dedication and participation in these activities are a testament to their resilience and commitment to learning – and we look forward to seeing their continued growth and success in the coming weeks to finish the term strongly.
