Cross Country cred

Being a part of ACC Cross Country is an experience like no other because of the sheer size of the event which takes place at Alderbury Reserve, Floreat.  It is a massive event, bringing together 89 ACC schools – and making the start line quite a spectacular sight when the gun heralds the start of the race.

We had two remarkable performances on the day from runners who have the talent to get out in front of the pack at the very start of the race and remain there for the entirety.

Lia Watters: Lia breezed it home this year in the Girls U/15 race, coming first out of 349 students in the 4km distance in 14min 34sec.

Fieke Potter: Racing in at about 100m in front of her closest competitor, Fieke was first in the U/13 Girls race and, incredibly, beat the U/14 Girls time by an astonishing 39 seconds, completing the 3km in 9min 51sec. There were 362 girls in this race.

As a result, Lia and Fieke were selected in the 2024 ACC All Stars Team and we look forward to awarding them their badges once received from the ACC. The Student Officials were awesome in their roles and many thanks to our Sports Captain, William Owen, and to Benjamin Humphreys for your time and commitment on the day.
