Dear Parents and Students,
Whole school Athletics
What a magnificent day yesterday was for our whole school athletics carnival. Despite the threat of rain it ended up being a beautiful day weather-wise. The children participated in a variety of events including sprints, long jump, triple jump, egg and spoon races etc.
A huge thank you to Gianni, the staff and the staff at Genazzano for ensuring the day ran so smoothly. It was great to see many parents in attendance.
Concert Preparations
Hopefully your child has come home and mentioned that preparation is well underway for our concert. Just a reminder that our concert will be held over two nights and all children are expected to attend both nights. The dates are the 18th and 19th September.
St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal
This Friday the children may wear casual clothes to school. We ask that they bring a gold coin donation that will be put towards the St Vincent de Paul winter Appeal. This is a great cause that helps many families less fortunate then ourselves.
Staffing
I would like to inform our community that Rachel McMahon in Yr 3/4 and Stem will be leaving OLGC at the end of this semester. Rachel had informed Erin of her decision earlier this term. I would like to thank Rachel for her contribution to OLGC. She always has a smile on her face! We wish her all the bestin her future endeavours. We are currently still trying to find a replacement for Rachel.
I would also like to inform our community that Linda Mattioli has decided to retire. Linda has been at OLGC for a number of years as a Learning Support Officer. I would like to thank her for her contribution to our wonderful school and the support she has shown the children. We will invite her back to farewell her appropriately.
School Reports
School Reports will be available to parents this Friday. Please take the opportunity over the holidays to read your child's report in preparation for Parent/Teacher interviews.
Term 3
The first day of Term three is a pupil free day.The staff are involved in Parent teacher interviews. If you haven't made an appointment yet please do so ASAP.
I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday.
