Message from Mrs Meyer

What a wonderful way to wrap up the week! Our multipurpose room was filled to the brim with joyful energy as mothers, grandmothers, grandparents, family members, and even godparents who all joined us for a beautiful celebration.  A heartfelt thank you to our Grade Two students and their teachers for taking the time to prepare and lead our community in prayer.

Today’s afternoon tea and classroom visits highlighted just how deeply our community thrives though connection, support, and belonging. It’s something we do so well, and something we’ll continue to nurture into the future.

As a Catholic faith community, we also share in the global excitement surrounding the appointment ofCardinal Robert Prevost of the United States, who has taken the name Pope Leo XIV. Many of our students, having recently learned about the passing of Pope Francis and the papal conclave, were buzzing with curiosity and enthusiasm this morning. With Pope Leo XIV’s background as a missionary and his commitment to peace and social justice, there is a sense of renewed hope and purpose already felt across our community.

On a more personal note, I’ve had some truly fascinating conversations with students this week, ranging from the variety of rocks found in the schoolyard to the intricate workings of a 3D printer! Thank you to the incredible staff, parents and students for your warmth and for giving me the opportunity to get to know you all better.

Wishing you a restful weekend and a Happy Mother's Day!

Many Blessings,

Eloise Meyer

Kicking Goals!

You may have noticed that the soccer goals have been moved recently. The old spot was getting a bit too gravelly and bare, and after chatting with some of our keen soccer players, they agreed it was time for a change.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Mr. Meyer who donated both his time and his crane truck to relocated the goals to their new home! And whilst the pitch is a little smaller now, the surface is much safer and more even, making for a better game all round.

Pick-Up, Pace and Parking

We’d like to remind families about some important safety measures we’ve recently implemented and put in place to keep our students and school safe.

PICK UP

To ensure the safety of all children, students can no longer walk unaccompanied between moving vehicles at pickup time. We kindly ask that all parents and carers collect their children in personat the end of the day.

To support this, a teacher has now been assigned to supervise and assist during this time.

Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to keeping our students safe.

PACE

We’ve observed some vehicles entering the school car park far too quickly. For the safety of our children and families, please remember to slow down and drive carefully within school grounds.

PARKING

With increased traffic from weekend sports activities, we’ve noticed damage to some parts of our grounds. As there are no staff on-site during weekends, we’ve decided to close this area to the public on weekends for now. We’re working with the shire to find a long-term solution.

Tour Guides Needed!

Do you have time to spare on Wednesday 14th May at 7:00pm or, more importantly, anytime between 10:00am and 12:00pm on Saturday 17th May?

We’re looking for friendly faces to help guide visitors around our school during upcoming tours. Holy Cross comes to life  with our amazing students and families, and we’d love for you to share what you love most about our community!

A note will be sent via Operoo shortly to gather interest. Tours do not take long, but with your help we can make a big impression!

All students attending Holy Cross Primary School have the right to feel safe. The care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people is a fundamental responsibility of all within our school.
