Cross Country

Congratulations to the school Cross Country Champions and Runners up who received their medals at last week's assembly. The Hunter House Captains presented the medals. Hunter are both the Cross Country and Swimming champions for 2025.

Diocesan Cross Country

The Diocesan Cross Country was held at Glenbawn Dam on Thursday 8 May. Students competed to gain selection in the Diocesan Team to compete at the NSWCCC Cross Country Championships.

 

We were very excited to host this event with all schools across the Diocese in attendance.

 

Touch Football

Our Touch Football teams travel to Tamworth next week for the NSW Touch regional competition. Mrs Smith has been busy organising Years 7/8 and 9/10 Boys and Girls teams.

 

NSWCCC Touch Football

We are extremely proud to announce our two NSWCCC representatives who were selected at the NSWCCC Touch Championships on the Central Coast last week.

 

 

Congratulations to Lewis B - Under 15 Boys and Macey C who were named in their respective NSWCCC teams. This is a wonderful achievement being selected from students across all NSW Catholic schools. Both Lewis and Macey will now compete at the NSW All Schools Touch Football Championships. 

 

Rugby League

CCC Cup

The Open Boys Rugby League team played in the regional competition of the NSWCCC Cup. They played very well in their first game defeating All Saints College and despite an excellent game were defeated by St Francis Xavier in their second game. 

 

Alan Tongue Rugby League

Our U14, 16 yrs and Open Boys and Girls teams will play in Tamworth on Monday in the Alan Tongue Rugby League finals. Mrs Smith, Mr Feeney, Ms Watkins and Mrs Eveleigh will manage and coach the teams.

 

Basketball

Open Boys

Our Open Boys Basketball team under the management of Ms Watkins contested the NSW Open Boys Basketball competition in Maitland on Thursday. The boys played in a round robin competition against schools within the Hunter region.

 

Rugby Union

Several students will attend the NSWCCC Rugby Trials in Sydney early next week. Hermione C, Ruby B and Mitchell R are trialling for selection in the U16 Girls Rugby 7’s team and Open Boys NSWCCC teams.

 

Soccer

Our junior boys team Years 7-10 will play in the annual Diocesan Junior Boys Soccer Knockout on Tuesday at Speers Point Park against schools from across the Diocese. Then on Thursday at Muswellbrook, they will play against Rutherford High in the Bill Turner Cup in Round 2 of the competition The boys defeated Scone Grammar in Round 1 of the knockout competition. 

 

Futsal

Mrs Sokulsky and Mr Hall have been busy preparing our school Futsal teams for the regional Futsal Championships at Maitland Basketball stadium on Tuesday and Wednesday 20/21 May. The teams will play to qualify for the NNSW Championships later in the term.

 

Sport in General

There are numerous representative and individual sports during this term. A reminder that it is important for students to check Compass regularly for both information and notification of events.
