Students participated in six interactive activities including learning about adjustments to road designs to improve safety, VR experiences of the development of road safety since the 1960s and impacts of road trauma on the human body. It was an informative session for all of the students involved.

Science Update

Year 8 Tech School Excursion

Last week our Year 8 students visited the Gippsland Tech School for the body systems excursion. Students were able engage in hands on activities and relate it directly to what they have learnt in their science classes this term.

Eva Bantock "Last Tuesday we went to the Gippsland Tech School and we got to do some cool science technology things. The best part was when we did virtual reality, we got to explore what it would be like to ride bikes in places all around the world, such as Paris and Notre Dame."

Alyssa Skinner - "On Tuesday the 13th of May at the Tech School we did workouts to see how it affected our heartrate, and we coded something to count our steps and also used some glowing things on the ground to compete against someone."

Students in 8A - "This experience was different, using tech is different from a normal workout. The VR was really fun and we all enjoyed it. There was a couple of problems, like some people got dizzy with the VR. Overall, it was a good day out."

The next morning, after some bacon and eggs on the BBQ, students headed into Maffra where they visited Southern Rural Water to learn about water management and the last stop was The Berry Dairy for some strawberry picking.
