Welcome Back Year 8

Welcome back! We hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable holiday. As we begin Term 2, we're looking forward to building on the momentum from Term 1. This term offers exciting learning opportunities, new challenges, and the chance for our students to look into class elective options for Year 9. 

We encourage all Year 8 students to start the term with a positive mindset, set clear goals, and make the most of the opportunities ahead. 

Police Engagement Session 

We recently held a police engagement session for our students, where local officers spoke about key issues affecting young people today. They raised awareness around a number of offences, including those related to bullying, physical violence, theft, and the growing concern of social media misuse. The session was informative and eye-opening, giving students a better understanding of the consequences of these actions and the importance of staying safe and responsible both online and in everyday life.

Truth Confessions - Year 8 English

Building Confidence Through Public Speaking

Classes 8b and 8m have kicked off a new English unit focused on public speaking. To break the ice and boost confidence, students took part in a fun activity called Truth Confession. Students were required to write down their own true confessions. One must be true and one must be false. 

Each student shared one truth and one lie, while their partner had 60 seconds of questioning time to ask questions to uncover which was which. 

This lively exercise not only sparked curiosity and laughter but also helped students grow more comfortable speaking in front of their classmates.
