ANZAC Day Commemorations
On Wednesday 23 April, Canzona joined the Brisbane Boys’ College Collegians in representing Clayfield College at the ANZAC Children’s Service held at ANZAC Square in the City. This moving event brought together students from across Brisbane to honour the sacrifices of our servicemen and women.
The service featured speeches by Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeanette Young, Governor of Queensland, and the Honourable David Crisafulli, Premier of Queensland. Our students provided musical contributions throughout the service and wreath-laying ceremony.
We sincerely thank Canzona for their outstanding representation of the College at this important occasion.
The entire Clayfield College community also gathered for our on-campus ANZAC Assembly. Year 12 student Mia Geere and Year 11 student Reese Taylor performed flawless renditions of the Last Post and the Rouse on trumpet, while Ella Jesson McIntyre delivered a powerful acapella performance of Amazing Grace. The Clayfield Symphonic Band added to the ceremony’s solemnity with their moving performance of Abide with Me during the wreath-laying segment.
