Lighting the Way in Term 2

We hope you all had a relaxing Easter break and are ready for the busy term ahead! Term 1 was a chance to grow, learn and foster connections with others as we started a new chapter of school. As College Captains, we hope to continue this sense of community within both the Secondary and Primary School in Term 2!

Our cohort’s theme of 'Let your light come alive in 2025' is a simple yet powerful reminder of the importance for students to seize every opportunity the College has to offer and continue to encourage a community that supports each student to shine in their unique way.

At the start of the year, one of our primary goals was to foster more House activities. As such, we are continuing our House spirit times at Assembly. Our aim is to promote active thinking and participation but also increase engagement from students as we come together as a school.

As we move further into the term, we hope to run more activities that encourage students to step out of their comfort zones, work together and build connections with one another. From big sister picnics to year level challenges, we are excited to watch our Clayfield family grow and shine brightly!

Stay safe over the long weekend and we can’t wait to see you all back for an exciting week!

A Bright Term 2 in Primary

We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and is ready for a fantastic Term 2, filled with exciting opportunities to learn, grow, and shine. We're especially thrilled to welcome many new students across the Primary School and can’t wait to get to know them all.

The term kicks off with our Interhouse Cross Country Carnival, along with the Andrews Cup and Britton Shield Cross Country events. Our students have been training hard since last term, and we’re looking forward to seeing their determination, teamwork, and House spirit on display. We’ll also be cheering on our Netball and Football teams in the upcoming Andrews Cup and Britton Shield competitions.

For our music lovers, Term 2 brings the much-anticipated Opus 1 and Opus 2 concerts, an exciting chance for students to showcase their musical talents and creativity. We’re also looking forward to celebrating our wonderful mothers at the Mother’s Day Breakfast and browsing for something special at the Mother’s Day Stall.

In the classroom, our teachers have planned engaging and enriching learning experiences, while outside of class time, a brand-new lineup of Primary Clubs will be on offer. This term’s club timetable includes Debating, Needlecraft, Drama, Book Club, Irish Dancing, Ignite a Light, Spanish Club, Green Team, Mindful Colouring, Robotics Club, Junior Musicianship, Sandpit Club, Card Games, and Dance Troupe, there’s truly something for everyone!

We encourage all students to get involved, try something new, and make the most of every opportunity. And always remember - 'Defy Gravity and Reach for the Stars!'
