Principal's update

Hello everyone,
Here is the newsletter for week three of term two.
Election stall fundraiser 03 May
I would like to thank everyone who was able to assist with the stall, whether it was baking cakes, setting up, time at the stall, promoting the stall etc. All assistance was much appreciated. Our stall was very successful, selling out of everything we had. The AEC advised that more people vote at Taradale than would be expected for the size of the booth, including people who travel to vote at Taradale. Several people said they vote at Taradale because of our great stall. We are still waiting for invoices from a couple of suppliers, when we have finalised those I will be able to share the financial results of the stall.
Education Week open morning Wednesday 14 May 9.00-11.00
We will be holding an open morning on Wednesday 14 May between 9.00-11.00 as part of Education Week. Current, future and prospective families are welcome to visit the school and have a look in the classrooms as the students go about their learning
AUSKICK - coming soon
In the coming weeks we will be starting a 5 week Auskick programme after school on a Wednesday. I will provide more details when I know the start date
Sport uniforms / soccer tops - now taking orders
Each year we give all students the opportunity to order sports shirts and shorts. We have found these to be very popular - not just with the students who attend interschool sport.
Shirts are $35-, Shorts $30-
You can choose to have your name and a number on the back of the shirt (both optional)
I will send order details on Compass or you can email me if you would like to place an order
Below is a mock up of what the shirts look like and sizing
Smile Squad six month fluoride varnish visit
The Bendigo Health Smile Squad team are heading back to our school to complete six-monthly fluoride varnish applications for those students who have provided consent. Fluoride varnish applications help make sure students have the best chance of preventing tooth decay, so we’re excited Smile Squad are coming back.
Consent for this fluoride varnish application was provided when students’ initial consent forms were returned. However, if anyone has changed their mind and do not wish to receive a fluoride varnish application, they can contact Bendigo Health directly to let them know. Please contact the Smile Squad team via:
Mobile: 0460 729 200Email: dental@bendigohealth.org.au
The Smile Squad team look forward to visiting soon.
Need dental care before the next Smile Squad visit? If any student requires emergency, urgent, or general dental care between our school visits, they can attend the Bendigo Health dental clinic. They will still be seen under Smile Squad at no cost. Please call 03 5454 7994 and ask for a Smile Squad appointment. Smile Squad is a Victorian Government programme that provides free dental care to all Victorian government primary and secondary school students.
