Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,
As we draw to the close of week 4, we reflect on the busy start of term we have had with many exciting events, excursions, and extra-curricular activities taking place. We would like to start with acknowledging our amazing Educational Support Staff that we have throughout the school. Our ES staff are the core to the school and without the incredible amount of work they perform the school would never be able to run. The school and the community appreciate everything you do to continue to make Red Cliffs Secondary College better every day.
We would like to thank our Wellbeing team and everyone else involved that planned and supported ‘Do it for Dolly Day’. It was fantastic to see lots of blue and a great number of students and staff participate in a range of activities. We have had students out for interschool soccer and cross country, our Year 9 students have started their Morrisby profiling process and all students participated in the annual Student Attitude to School Survey (AtoSS) yesterday. We also had a stall at the Mildura Field days today, which was very well attended and we thank our students and staff who attended throughout the day. This was another great opportunity so showcase our school.
Our Year 7 Open Night was a huge success, overfilling our lecture theatre. It was great to see so many families looking around the school and chatting with staff. We would like to thank all staff who supported on the night, but must give a huge thankyou to Mrs. Jen Chatfield who puts enormous amounts of work into not only the night but the lead up to it, visiting and communicating with many schools and families.
Year 10 Work Experience is next week, we wish all of our Year 10’s the best and hope they have a great week looking into possible future careers. We look forward to hearing their stories when they return. Year 8 Camp to the Adelaide Hills is in week 6, as well as more interschool sports over the next couple of weeks.
Senior school mid-year exams are also coming up and will be spread out across week 7 and 8.
Year 10’s - Week 7
Year 11’s - Week 8.
There will be an adjustment to the school week for our Year 11’s during their exam week. There will be no classes run throughout the week, students will only attend when they have exams scheduled. More information around this will be sent out to students and families on Compass.
The GAT is also coming up for VCE students, taking place on Tuesday, 17th June, 2025.
We hope everyone has a safe and happy weekend!
Mr. Josh Willersdorf
Assistant Principal
