Principal's Report

Dear Parents,

This Wednesday evening is our Enrolment Information Night for 2026. We kindly encourage all families with prep children starting school next year to come along. If you know of families in our community not connected to our school, yet with children due to start school, please pass on this information so we reach as many families as possible. The details of the evening are on the flyer below.

Last week we welcomed Jack Davidson to our school as our new Digital Learning teacher. Jack comes to us from Mildura and has settled in nicely. With my office right next to The Hive, I can hear firsthand the excitement at what Jack is teaching. If you happen to be passing by, please pop in and offer a warm welcome.

Last week we also saw 53 students make their way to Phillip Island for four days of fun and adventure.  The weather was certainly brisk, but that didn't dampen spirits as students went boogie-boarding and swimming, saw the penguin parade, went rock climbing and many other exciting activities. A huge thank you to the staff and parent who went along and made sure things ran so smoothly. A special thank you to Lauren Wishart for organising the camp which took many months and quite a deal of hard work. No doubt it was worth it judging by the smiles on everyone's faces.

Over the past few weeks, I have had the pleasure of being a part of Kings Park Primary School's review process. I was fortunate to meet with staff, parents and students and see all of the wonderful things happening there and offer my insights into their next four years. Whilst there is no question Kings Park is a wonderful school, this opportunity also gave me time to see the similarities between that school and ours.  Both are high performing, both serve very diverse communities and both strive to do their best for their respective students each an every day. I hope they gained something from my involvement, just as we did during our review when their principal did the same here for us.

Finally, a reminder that Friday June 6 is a pupil free day leading in to the King's Birthday public holiday on the Monday giving students a four-day weekend. Please be sure to mark these dates in your diary.  TheirCare will be available for supervision on the Friday so please book in accordingly.

Kind Regards,

Simon McGlade
